Jump Start Design Kit
Start Strong. Design Faster.
Jump Start is a lightweight Figma-based design kit created to give new product designs a strong foundation from day one. Built for small to medium-sized interactive products and enterprise software, it combines a comprehensive variable library, shared typography styles, reusable components, responsive foundations, and defined interaction states. Component styling and layout are driven extensively by shared variables—making the system easy to customize, maintain, and evolve without the overhead of a full-scale design system.
Jump Start grew out of a frustration I think a lot of designers have experienced: opening a Figma file and finding inconsistent components, one-off spacing and color values, unclear naming, and patterns that have been recreated slightly differently across the product.
I wanted a better starting point. So I built a lightweight kit that handles much of that foundational work up front—standardized component structures, practical spacing and color scales, reusable variables, and consistent interaction states. Colors are mapped to variable modes for Light and Dark themes, while shared variables and components make global styling changes quick and predictable.
The goal isn't to provide a rigid, finished design system. It's to give designers a clean, organized foundation they can duplicate, make their own, and start designing with immediately—then extend it naturally as the product grows.
